Our school building meets recognised auditory acoustic BB93 standards, ensuring an optimal listening environment that minimises background noise and supports access to spoken language. High‑quality auditory input is central to successful listening development, and careful attention is given to classroom acoustics, technology and teaching practice.
We have a dedicated audiology room equipped with specialist resources to support the effective monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of hearing aids and assistive listening technology. This ensures that equipment is functioning optimally and that any issues are identified and addressed promptly, reducing barriers to learning.
The majority of our teaching staff are qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToDs), with deep expertise in deafness and its impact on language, listening, learning and well‑being. They support students in every aspect of school life connected with deafness, working closely with families and professionals to deliver highly individualised support.
Students are encouraged and supported to develop independence and confidence in understanding, using and caring for their own hearing technology, empowering them to take an active role in their communication and learning now and in the future.
