At Knightsfield school we have a Therapeutic approach to Behaviour and how we teach and care for the students, therefore we are proud to have our own dedicated Pastoral Room, providing a safe place for students to visit, be listened to and to share any concerns that may be worrying them. This space is also used for positive engagement and Thursdays Pastoral lunchtime club where the room is full of fun and laughter for all ages. The room is also used for when children are overwhelmed or need to have a break from the classroom, allowing the students to sit and talk or work in a quiet and calm environment. We have the responsibility of working within the guidelines of the Safeguarding Policy whilst working closely together with our DSPS/DSL and all aspects of KCSiE.

We also use the Pastoral space to talk to children about their behaviour as well as have repair meetings. Having a consistent safe space has really helped with overall behaviour in the school.
