On Monday four of our wonderful students joined Mrs Farenden and Mr Evans to deliver a Deaf Awareness assembly to Micklem Primary School in Hemel Hempstead. Gus, Rylan, Annabelle and Paige answered lots of questions about their deafness and what it’s like being a student at Knightsfield school which they all agreed that it was brilliant! 😊

Annabelle explained how it feels to be deaf, Gus and Rylan gave some guidance as to how their equipment works and Paige even taught the pupils how to sign their name using BSL finger spelling she had learnt at our lunchtime signing club!

Over the Summer term we will be visiting schools across Hertfordshire and surrounding Local Authorities to present more deaf awareness assemblies.
